How Other People Treat You is a Reflection of Your Reality

October 29, 2010

I just watched a Japanese high school drama mini-series, called Nobuta Wo Produce. And after I finished watching the first episode, I got a startling reaffirmation of reality. First off, you should NEVER base your actions on what other people think of you. Never do things against your moral code, only to please other people. It’s never worth it. But, the truth is, to a certain extent: How other people treat you is a reflection of your own reality. When I was in elementary school, I was often made fun of, and I got into a lot of confrontations. Now, looking back, I know exactly why. My reality was very weak. I had no self confidence, and I EXPECTED people to dislike me. Nowadays, I expect the opposite, and my life has flipped 180 degrees. The main point I am making: Strengthen your reality, and be genuinely confident in yourself. People WILL notice. Again, we are all social creatures, and it’s important to be your BEST self in order to attract the BEST people.

In the show, there is a new student in a high school. She has a very low self-esteem, barely speaks a word, and walks with hear head completely facing the ground. She is teased, made fun of, and even physically abused by her classmates. It’s quite painful to watch. There are 2 guys who have a great talk with her. She keeps telling them that no matter where she goes in the world, everybody is the same. No one likes her, and everybody is there to make her life miserable. They guys go on to tell her that it is SHE who needs to change, not the world. She has to be the catalyst, and completely change her demeanor.

We all have experienced self confidence at some point in our life. It could be from a relationship, a great grade on a test, winning a sports game, or any other personal achievement. You have the power in you. You have felt the emotions. All you have to do, is bring this same self confidence when you interact with others. It’s that simple. Just remember not to be arrogant. Never act like you have something to prove to other people. It’s your life, and if they want to be in it, awesome. If not, just move on. Easier said than done, but I hope this is an effective outline for you.

If you’re fed up with the way your life is going, or the way that people are treating you, there is always a solution: Change your reality. What would James Bond do? What would Gandhi do? And for you NCIS fans, what would Leroy Jethro Gibbs do? :) If they can handle their tough situations, so can you. We all have the power to change for the better. It’s a choice. Make the right one.

And if you still feel uneasy, check out Sean Stephenson and Nick Vujicic! They are living in INCREDIBLY powerful realities, that they have chosen for themselves.

Drea, What a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for stopping by and leaving a comment. :)

I know it’s not good to care what other people think about you, but when you’re authentic, people can’t help but to respect you. It’s a good way to measure the progress you have made towards creating a strong reality for yourself!

All the best to you and Paul,
    Josh Lipovetsky.
